Supporting individual students with high health needs

Allowances: Special Duties Allowance, Regional Health School Teacher Unit

Commencing in Term 1 2019, this privileged teaching role involves supporting students with health / mental health conditions that are preventing them from attending school, on a regular basis.  We aim for students to maintain their educational programmes as far as possible, and to transition back to school.  The school is currently based in Hastings and daily travel to students’ homes, local schools and other venues is a key component of the job. 

Proven experience teaching in both the primary and secondary sectors is desirable. We seek to employ a self-motivated passionate teacher who is innovative and adaptable. They will be planning and delivering programmes of work across a wide range of levels and subjects to support students’ educational needs. The nature of this teaching role also involves close liaison with families, agencies, schools, specialists and schools.

Collaboration, excellent communication and flexibility are key to the success of our work in this setting.

Applicants must be experienced NZ registered teachers with a current practising certificate.

A current full, clean NZ driver’s licence is required, and your own vehicle.
